Pregnancy is one of the most exciting moments for a woman’s life stages. It is quiet sensitive and risky but it will end up with satisfaction especially if the baby is healthy and disease free.  Prenatal vitamins are nutrients that must be consider in a daily diet of the pregnant woman.  This is for the assurance of safe and healthy pregnancy as she carries her baby in the womb.  So, what prenatal vitamins must be prioritized during this stage? Are they safe to take? How about the side effects that may lead to risk? Before anything else, we should have ideas about the prenatal vitamins that must be present from the first month of pregnancy until the delivery of the baby.

The first in line is the folic acid which is important in the building of the spinal of the new born child. This must be taken from the first week of pregnancy to its fourth week. That is why, it is recommended by most doctors to take supplements or folic acid supplements to maintain the health of both the mother and the baby.  It is also important to have a continuous communication with your physical or doctor to have an update of the amount of folic acid to be taken.

The second one is the calcium. We all know that calcium is one of the recommended supplements in bone building and brain development.  Pregnant woman must never forget to take calcium which may found in some dairy products like milk.  There is a tendency that a woman who is not having an additional calcium will develop osteoporosis because the baby inside will consume the calcium within the body of his or her mother.  Take note that calcium will also aid in the development of the brain cells of the baby as well as his bone.  It is a good idea to purchase calcium supplements to and be fortified with vitamin D for the fast absorption.  Another nutrient is the iron which is protecting the pregnant woman from anemic. But it must be first prescribed by a doctor before taking one.
